Munganga & mentrum: dreaming beyond borders

What is it going to be? a theatre performance? A musical? A mix of cabaret, fairy tales, dance and theatre? At this very moment nobody knows. Not the director, not the authors, noone. The only thing we know, is that this is going to be a very special performance. You can count on it!

Munganga & Mentrum: Dreaming beyond borders!

In the end of 2010 we started the project "Dreaming beyond borders" with a group  of about 20 people. This project is a cooperation between Munganga and Mentrum, an institution which supports adults with longlasting, complex psychatric and addiction problems.  +/- 20 people have signed up to join the project. Those people, clients from Mentrum, became authors and makers of this performance.

Cláudia Maoli, artistic director of Munganga, is the person who is responsible for the artistic process. She is working together with Lizet Huizinga, director, actress and dramateacher.
based on various workshops the participants are working with different disciplines, like dance, theatre, mime, music and clowning. The clients of Mentrum are encouraged, to write texts and in the following transform then.

In januari the rehearsals have started, Each week we are rehearsing. The performance will be ready in June, a series of performances will be given at the Ostadetheater in Amsterdam.

Nobody knows what it's going to be, but that is not really important. Each rehearsal is an experience, a real beautiful and special experience. The process is equal or in the end even maybe more important than the endresult.

There aren't going to be many performances, so: don't miss it!
